About PGCET:


PGCET is an entrance test for admissions into postgraduate courses (MBA, MCA, ME / M.Tech) in the State of Karnataka.


The State Government has withdrawn from the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) the responsibility of conducting Postgraduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) for courses such as Master of Computer Application, Master of Engineering, and Master of Technology.

From the year 2011, the PGCET for these courses, as well as for the Master of Business Administration (MBA), will be conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).
The Government has amended the rules of the Karnataka Education Institutions (Prohibition of Capitation Fee) Act, 1984, to enable the KEA to hold the common entrance tests for the courses.

The KEA has also been authorized to conduct entrance test to fill seats for these courses under management quota if the managements make a request to it in this regard.

PGCET Question Paper Pattern:-


PGCET is having above mentioned 4 section and each section will carries 25 marks and total paper is consisting of 100 marks. All the questions are Multiple Choice Question, Each question will have 4 options and you have to make Tick Mark on OMR sheet which is provided by KEA and also Replica (Duplicate) of your OMR Sheet will be given to candidates after examination.

The Total Time Duration for exam is 150 minutes but only 120 minutes will be given for candidates to mark answers and remaining 30 minutes will be given to Fill OMR Sheet and To Verify your Hall Tickets and all.

Eligibility Criteria For PGCET:

For Regular Master of Business Administration Programme Bachelor Degree examination with not less than 50%  of the marks in the aggregate of all the years of the degree examinations is required. However, in the case of candidates from Karnataka belonging to SC/ST, the aggregate percentage of marks of all the years of the qualifying examinations shall not be less than 45% required.

For External or Part Time Master of Business Administration Programme Candidate must they have to satisfy the academic eligibility criteria which is specified for Full-Time MBA Course, and also he/she must have worked for not less than 3 years in an establishment and they must be working in an organization which is situated within a distance of 40 KM from the institution in which the candidate seeks admission.
